Coaches

Each team will have a minimum of three coaches who will be attending various courses during the year. Please remember these coaches are mostly parents themselves and give their time up freely to coach rugby so, when you can, please help out with lifts to games etc.

Age Groups

Teams will start with 5s and 6s together, then under 7s, under 8s, under 9s, under 10s, under 11s and under 12s.

Under 5s to under 9s are only friendly games. Under 10s to 12s will have Tournament leagues which run for most of the season and cup and plate competitions in March and April. There are also Blitzs, which take place during the year at all age groups.

Club Kit

The new club kit will be available on Registration Day. We will be taking orders for jerseys, shorts, socks etc. and they will be available at the club house. (Click here for the Malahide Jersey Order Form)

Aims for the year

Our aims for the year are for all the children to have fun, meet new friends and learn all about the great game of rugby. We ask parents to come and watch the training, go to the games because the boys and girls love when their parents and family are on the side line cheering them on. Try not to just drop your child in the car park and drive off. If for whatever reason you cannot stay please be sure to be on time when collecting your child as coaches have things to do themselves.

This year the club will be issuing a mission statement and it will be sent to all players & parents.

Breakfast:

Along with tea & coffee, breakfast will be available in the clubhouse on Sunday mornings.
(Fruit and Juice available for children FREE after training).

Child Officer:
Our child officer for this year is Joe McKenna (087-2386595).
Mini’s Coordinator:
This years’ mini’s coordinator is Aidan Ryan (087-2246050) e-mail: aidan@sanar.ie

Club Rules

We ask parents when they are in the new club house with their children to make sure their kids are properly supervised at all times and to respect other club members. No children will be allowed upstairs in dirty rugby kit or boots, this also applies to rugby socks. Please bring a pair of runners to change into. You may put a clean tracksuit over the dirty gear. While coaches will supervise the changing after training it would be greatly appreciated if parents could make sure that their children get changed and are properly dressed before coming in to the club. This is especially the case with younger children and they will stop playing at least 30 minutes before the older children.

All parents please note children will not be permitted to wear their rugby boots up and down the concrete stairs leading from the car park to the firsts pitch. This is a must to avoid any accidents.

The most important rule is for everyone to enjoy themselves in a safe and friendly environment.
